Ingredients to Make Moong Dal Halwa:
First of all, Soak the moong dal in water for 4 to 5 hours.
Moong Dal – 1 Cup
Desi Ghee – 5-6 tablespoons
Semolina – 1 tablespoon
Gram flour – 1 tablespoon
For Sugar Syrup
Water – 1 Cup
Sugar – 1 Cup
Saffron – a little bit
Cardamom Powder – 1 teaspoon
And dry fruits, for garnishing..
How to Make Moong Dal Halwa:
First of all, we will take out the moong dal with water and grind it into a paste. Now put ghee in a pan, add semolina and gram flour in it and cook it on a low flame till it becomes light brown. Now add moong dal paste to the pan and stirring continuously. Fry it till it turns brown.
How to Make Sugar Syrup:
For making sugar syrup, add sugar in water in a fry pan and let it boil. Then put saffron and cardamom powder in it and leave it to cook.
Now carefully mix the syrup in the moong dal and cook it till completely mixed. When it mixes well, then you mix dry fruits of your choice and cook it well until its water runs out. Now enjoy the hot northern Indian dessert which is called Moong Dal Halwa.
