Ganesh Utsav: When Celebrities Dance and Dazzle

Ganesh Chaturthi has a certain vibe that I just can’t explain. I pray, gorge on delicious sweets, dance and basically enjoy life to its fullest, all throughout the year. But all these things go on a whole new level when Bappa comes home. Ganesh Utsav is possibly the biggest festival for me.

During Ganesh Utsav, I sing during aartis with an energy. I rarely have and dance during visarjan like there’s no tomorrow. But then, I am human and tend to tire after all that fun. That’s when I tune into TV to catch the Ganpati special shows where I see my favourite TV and film stars perform for our dear Bappa.

But, in the recent times, I barely have been able to make time aartis and visarjan. So, watching at primetime is out of the question. But I still wanted to see my favourite stars perform during this festive season. That’s when ZEE5 saved the day for me. This Ganesh Utsav, ZEE5 did an amazing job creating a carousel specifically for this festival. It featured movies, songs, and videos of events and performances with a strong Ganeshotsav feel.

Now since I have made it quite obvious how much I adore the dance performances. Here are some videos that I wish to share with you to enjoy this Ganesh Utsav.

Varun Dhawan’s Dhamakedaar Performance – Kumkum Bhagya

The super cool Varun Dhawan is just bursting with energy during this spectacular performance for Kumkum Bhagya’s Ganapati Special Episode. His crisp dance moves to the tune of Judwaa 2’s Suno Ganpati Bappa Morya was marvellous beyond words.

TV Divas Spell Magic With Grace – Kumkum Bhagya

Mouni Roy, Amruta Khanvilkar and Asha Negi – Three actresses I am absolutely in awe of. While they were great actors, their impeccable dance skills and magnetic stage presence make them a delight to watch. In this video from Kumkum Bhagya’s Ganapati Special Episode, I got to see Kathak, Lavni and freestyle Bollywood dance through three beautiful performances. Now, that is what I call complete entertainment!

Throwbacks are Good – Pavitra Rishta

There was a time when I never missed an episode of Pavitra Rishta. I remembered almost every episode of this show. That’s why this video from Pavitra Rishta’s Ganpati special episode brings back a lot of memories. The energy that Jay-Mahi and Tina-Nandish show in their dance still gives me goosebumps when I watch this video after so many years.
